A double trumpet recital with a bit of comedy thrown in –

Benjamin Hare
is a talented trumpet player and aspiring studio orchestra performer with a degree in BMus Performance from McGill University, where he studied with Professor Richard Stoelzel.

His experience is varied and includes notable ensembles such as Griffin Brass Band, Pronto Symphony Orchestra, and McGill Symphony Orchestra, McGill Contemporary Music Ensemble, and
McGill Jazz Orchestra II.

Notable accomplishments include 2nd place in the 2015 International Trumpet Seminar Collegiate Solo Competition, and alternate in the 2017 International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition.
This fall, he is beginning the MMus Performance program at University of California- Los Angeles, where he will study with Grammy Award nominee and renowned international trumpet artist, Jens Lindemann.

Morgan Mitteer
Bachelors of Music Performance trumpet major with a minor in jazz voice performance entering her third year at McGill University. She is an aspiring studio orchestra performer with experience in solo, chamber ensemble, band, orchestra, jazz band, jazz combo, theater, and choral ensemble environments.

She has studied with notable trumpet players such as Dr. Alexander Wilson of Grand Valley State University, and Professor Richard Stoelzel of McGill University (current). She has performed as a featured soloist with trumpet in the White Lake Chamber Music Festival as well as on trumpet with the White Lake Festival Wind Ensemble, with the Grand Rapids Symphonic Band, Muskegon Community College Jazz Band, and in a live radio broadcast with the Blue Lake Festival Orchestra.

She has also performed as a featured soloist with jazz voice for two consecutive years with the McGill Jazz Orchestra II.

Morgan competes and has earned honors in many regional and international solo competitions. Her most notable performance experiences include involvement in various bands, jazz bands, and orchestras throughout Michigan and Montreal, including principal trumpet in the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony under director John Varineau, lead trumpet in McGill University Jazz Orchestra II under Ron DiLauro, principal trumpet in Orchestre Philharmonique des Musiciens de Montreal under Phillipe Menard, and principal
trumpet in McGill Wind Orchestra under Jonathon Dagenais. On the side, she has made appearances in various ensembles including Orchestre Symphonique de l’Isle, multiple Montreal-based studio orchestras, and at Maison Symphonique with the Ensemble des Cuivres de University de Montreal, and served as founder and artistic director of West Michigan’s White River Jazz Combo.
Morgan currently performs with Montreal-based theatre and performance company, House XII Theatre, which will be appearing in the Halifax Fringe Theatre Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia this August.
