The Book Nook & Java Shop opened the doors December 4th 2002. We are the first full service, independent bookstore in the history of White Lake, serving Montague, Whitehall and surrounding areas in Western Michigan.

We offer New York Times bestsellers, most popular, used books and discounted titles. Most special orders ship the same day. The children's section is outstanding as is our young adult selection. The java shop bakery items along with soups, bagels and coffee concoctions of all sorts.

We are a wireless café yet also offer a computer with high speed cable if you don't have a lap-top and you need to check email or surf the web.

Live music on Friday and Saturday evenings vary from rock to folk or blues and the last Saturday of every month is "Open Mic Night" where you are likely to experience an array of talent from storytelling, poetry, prose to live music.

Wake up on Saturday mornings and enjoy brews, news and live Caribbean music while you enjoy a latte or fresh juice with a cinnamon roll or bagel.
