In 2007 Riely OConnor & Molly B. Moon focused their individual
musical pursuits into a duo. Since then the pair has performed in nine
states from Michigan to Arizona. At each performance, they give the
audience their unique blend of category-defying original songs, along
with an intriguing sampling of classics from the catalog of tunes from
the British Isles and Appalachia.
2009 has found OConnor and Moon
recording their first joint CD. That album, Who Knows When will be
released in November. Who Knows When features nine of their originals
(including the duo’s first recorded co-write, The Reckoning) and one
traditional labor song from the 1920’s.
Riely OConnor began his solo singer-songwriter career in 2004 with the
release of his Nashville-recorded CD, Workin’ On A Memory. In 2006 he
released a second CD, A Dream Or Two. OConnor has performed frequently
in the Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan area and has toured regularly
in the South and out West. His songs are known for their powerful
themes, insightful lyrics and “hum-able” melodies. In his live
performances OConnor delivers the goods with energy and dynamic stage
presence.
Molly B. Moon is well known in the Northern Indiana-Southwest Michigan
region for her wonderful singing voice and distinctive mandolin. In the
1980’s she was a founding member of several fine Celtic music groups
including Paddy’s Racket, where she played with fiddle/banjo legend Dan
Gellert. Moon has recorded with many area artists in the Irish and
American folk genres. Her original songs range from touching ballad to
swinging blues—each imbued with wit and insight. “ I love the deep well
that traditional music draws from; now I’m thrilled to be adding my
voice to the stream of music.”
Riely OConnor & Molly B. Moon call South Bend, Indiana home, but
they are very much “at home” on stages all over the Midwest, South and
West.
