Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services is a comprehensive, full-service agency serving the needs of the Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing communities. They have events, such as signing santa, holiday parties, Deaf camp for kids and many events for adults also. They are an invaluable asset to the Deaf community as they also provide interpreter services, ASL classes and other services to help provide equal access. Join us for a night of fun socializing with your Deaf community and interpreters, games and crafts for kids, ASL storytelling, an author talk by a local CODA author, Mickey Carolan, raffle and silent auction and shop for books by Deaf authors and ASL books.This fundraiser is a very special one to us at The Book Nook as our daughter, Lucy is Deaf. This organization has been so important to us as resources are so very limited in West Michigan for the Deaf community. She is thriving with language and inclusion because of places like this and how amazing our small community is here in Montague.We are hoping to raise them money through direct donations, a percentage of our sales for the evening and proceeds from the silent auction and raffle.
